The Bihar Government has kicked off January 2026 with a historic decision to modernize land management in the state. Effective immediately, the Revenue and Land Reforms Department has shifted the entire process of issuing land documents to a digital-only mode. From January 1, 2026, the Bihar government has stopped the manual issuance of physical land records at block offices.

• New System: Now, digitally signed copies of all revenue records are available instantly on the Bihar Bhumi Portal (land.bihar.gov.in or biharbhumi.bihar.gov.in).

2. Bihar Special Land Survey: Deadline Extended

• New Deadline: December 2026.

• “First In, First Out”: Officers must handle applications in the order they are received. Jumping the queue is now strictly monitored by software to prevent corruption.

1. Go to the Bhu Naksha section on the portal.

3. Click on your plot number on the interactive map.
