Major Changes in CUET PG 2026

The NTA has tweaked the exam structure and logistics this year to make the process smoother.

1. Exam Pattern: 75 Questions Only

Consistent with the recent reforms, the CUET PG 2026 will focus strictly on domain knowledge for most papers.

• Total Questions: 75 (Multiple Choice Questions).
• Duration: 105 Minutes (1 hour 45 minutes).
• Part A Removed: For the majority of subject codes, the “General Test” (Part A) has been removed. The paper will consist solely of 75 Domain-Specific questions.
• Marking Scheme: +4 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong answer.

2. City Choice & Center Reduction

In a new update, NTA has clarified the rules for selecting exam cities.

• More Choices: Candidates can now select up to 4 exam cities based on their permanent or correspondence address. This is an increase from the previous limit, aiming to offer centers closer to home.
• Fewer Centers: While choices have increased, the total number of exam centers has been rationalized to 292 cities across India (down from 300+ previously) to ensure better monitoring and security.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: NTA has no age limit for appearing in CUET PG 2026. However, you must check the specific age criteria of the university you are applying to (e.g., BHU or TISS may have their own rules).
• Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Final-year students can also apply.
